Coach Step, Inc. Electric Steps
I did a web search on this company and could not find out who they are. I need a wiring schematic for the electric steps on a Newmar MountainAir with a Coach Step, Inc. step system.
Anyone have an idea?

Shark-bite fittings found at Lowes and Home Depot also work nicely. They are the push-on types of fittings. A little expensive but save a ton of labor.
Many RV parts stores also carry Flair-it fittings. These are plastic and have screw on nuts that do the same as the old compression fittings.
The nipples going into the water heaters are typically 1/2 inch pipe. Most of the plastic hose is 1/2 inch PEX.

Hayes Endeavor Brake Controller
My neighbor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 with a Hayes Endeavor brake controller. The truck is sitting in the driveway without the trailer connected. Last night, the truck tail lights started blinking, about once every 10-15 seconds. Pushing the brake pedal stops the problem for a while. A few hours later, the truck tail lights will start to blink again.
He pulled the #1, 30 amp fuse for the electric brakes to get the lights to stop blinking.
Anyone have an idea what to do?

You said it worked all weekend on LP. Put it back on LP for 12 hours and see if it cools. If it does, the cooling system has not leaked all the ammonia, hydrogen, amd rust inhibitor out. You need to look further. Did you have an ammonia smell?

Tim,
I can't believe your Dometic Service Center does not know about the Thermo Disc. They are being installed on 100,000 Dometic refrigerators. You are right, the module board needs 12 VDC to operate and an open Thermo Disc prevents 12VDC from going to the board. You can temporarily bypass the disc for troubleshooting purposes and the frig should power up normally. Please do not use the unit (legal reasons) with the disc bypassed for more than a few hours during your testing.
I don't see any part number in any of my books but a quick call to Dometic should get you fixed up.
I surprised your dealer does not have some spare Thermo Discs in stock.

If you dont have a clamp-on meter, pull the two heating element wires off of J7 and J8 of the circuit board and then check for 120 volts at J7 and J8. If you have 120 VAC, change your meter to the ohms scale and check the two black wires you just removed. You should see about 40 ohms. If you get an infinite reading the element is open and you can get a new one for about $40-$50.

The weatherman said it was going to be 84 degrees tomorrow so I thought about winterizing. I did not have any antifreeze so I went and sat in the hot tub and swam in the pool.
Winter is wonderful in South Texas.

The 2-amp fuse will take care of the LP gas side. Do you have a water heater circuit braker for the 120 VAC electric side of the water heater you could turn off.

The thermal cutoff and the 2 amp fuse are used in the LP gas portion of the water heater. If everything works ok on gas, focus on finding out if you have 120 VAC to the electric heating element. If you do, disconnect the two wires going to the heating elment and do a resistance check of the element and a short to ground test to verify element condition.

Is your rig a 5th wheel with one bottle on each side? Do you have a separate 15 psi regulator on the bottle furthest from the two-stage regulator with the changeover valve.
I'm just trying to get a visual picture of what you have.

Or, you could take a pot of hot water and pour it over the top of the LP cylinder. You can see the frost line around the side where the liquid level is located.

An RV technician would also do the following.
Leak check every fitting that was taken apart using an approved leak detection solution or an electronic leak tester.
Regulator test to ensure regulator does not exceed 14 inches WC when it is sitting at rest with no appliances being used. (Lock Up Pressure)
Test entire system operating pressure with two stove burners lit. Regulator should be at 11 inches WC.
Test the system for leaks by lowering system pressure to 8 inches WC and seeing if the system will hold for three minutes with the main tank turned off.
You did a great job jumping in and solving your problem but you need to make sure the LP system is safe.

If you are afraid to use a hair dryer put some hot water in a spray bottle. Put some towels below the ice so you can catch the water and ice that will slide off. You do have to spray the water on the ice. It takes me less than 15 minutes to defrost the frig or freezer. The food sits in the sink but never has a chance to get warm.

Did the RV shop indicate that the capacitor for the fan may be defective? You can access the fan by removing the cover on the roof. Turn off the air conditioning circuit breaker prior to working on the air conditioner. Make sure you fully understand the dangers of working on the capacitor prior to making any tests. The capacitor is also on the roof, under the cover. The compressor also uses a capacitor.
